The first residents have begun to move into Steele Creek, the first of a new wave of luxury developments in the already tony Cherry Creek.

Rents in the 12-story Steele Creek at 1st Avenue and Steele Street in Cherry Creek East start at $1,650 a month. Steele Creek is believed to be the most expensive apartment tower ever built in Denver.

The tower, developed by BMC Investments and managed by Highlands Ranch-based UDR, includes a 24-hour concierge, a rooftop infinity pool and lounge, a private entertainment lounge and a 24-hour fitness center.

Steele Creek also includes more than 17,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, anchored by the internationally acclaimed Matsuhisa Japanese restaurant. The restaurant is set to open at the end of the year.

Matsuhisa Cherry Creek will serve the cuisine of Chef Nobuyuki Matushisa.

“Steele Creek is the first new apartment building to open in Cherry Creek since 2010, and it’s emblematic of the renaissance in Cherry Creek,” said Matt Joblon, CEO of BMC Investments.

“With the addition of Matsuhisa and the incomparable building amenities, Steele Creek is the pre-eminent luxury community in Denver,” Joblon added.

Steele Creek is the first to be completed of several prominent nearby developments, mostly office and rental properties. A hotel and condos also are under construction blocks from Steele Creek.

“We’re excited to deliver this transformational community in Denver,” said Jarrett Posner, chairman of BMC Investments.

“Our entire team has worked tirelessly to get the building to delivery, and we’re extremely proud of the community we’ve created,” Posner added.
